3 x Events

Quartzite Run:
  • Minimum age on race day: 16 years

  • Early bird entry (before 16 December 2022): R950 per entry

  • Pre-entry (before 22 May 2023): R1 200 per entry

  •  No late entries or entries on race day will be accepted 

 

20km Quartzite Run (Saturday/day 1): 705m elevation. Start and finish at main venue. Full distance along natural trails. All climbs can be run. Sections with loose rocks and gravel. ±20% shaded

 

15km Quartzite Run (Sunday/day 2): 556m elevation. Starts at Ou-plaas, finish at Main venue. Transport to start will be provided. Route includes; 3,5km tertiary gravel road and 11,5km along built nature trails. All climbs can be run. Sections with loose rocks and gravel. ±15% shaded

Granite Run:
  • Minimum age on race day: 15 years

  • Early bird entry (before 16 December 2022): R700 per entry

  • Pre-entry (before 22 May 2023): R850 per entry

  •  No late entries or entries on race day will be accepted 

 

15km Granite Run (Saturday/day 1): Start and finish at main venue. 530m elevation. Full distance along built trails. All climbs can be run. Sections with loose rocks and gravel. ±20% shaded

 

11km Granite Run (Sunday/day 2): 188m elevation. Starts at Ou-plaas, finish at Main venue. Transport to start will be provided. Supporters are welcome to drop runners at the Ou-Plaas on the morning and return to main venue . Ou-Plaas is 3,5km from main venue . Route includes; 3,5km Tertiary gravel road and 7,5km built trails. All climbs can be run. Sections with loose rocks and gravel. ±15% shaded

 

The 11km Lekka Run:
  • Minimum age on race day: 14 years

  • Pre-entry (before 22 May 2023): R200 per entry

  •  Late entry: R250 per entry 

  • Late entries will be accepted on race day

 

The 11km Lekka Run (Sunday): 188m elevation. Starts at Ou-plaas, finish at Main venue. Transport from Koedoeslaagte to start will be provided. Route includes; 3,5km tertiary gravel road and 7,5km built trails. All climbs can be run. Sections with loose rocks and gravel. ±15% shaded

Registration & Number Pick-up:
  • Fri 26 May 2023 – 15:00-20:00 at the Koedoesaal at Koedoeslaagte Trail Park

  • Sat 27 May 2023 – 06:00-07:30 at the Koedoesaal at Koedoeslaagte Trail Park

  • Sun 28 May 2023 – Number Pick-up and late registration for The 11km Lekka Run, 06:00-07:30 at the Koedoesaal at Koedoeslaagte Trail Park

 

Event Briefing & Pasta Evening:
  • All participants are encouraged to attend the main event briefing by the organisers on Friday afternoon, 26 May at the Pasta evening at 18:00 at the main venue at Koedoeslaagte Trail Park

  • All participants must attend the pre-race briefing 10 minutes prior to the start of each race

 

Start & Cut-off Times Saturday:
  • 20km Quartzite Run, Start Time 08:00, cut-off time 13:00

  • 15km Granite Run, Start Time 08:10, cut-off time 13:00

 

Start & Cut-off Times Sunday:

  • Tractor and trailer transport to Ouplaas (3,5km) will depart from 07:30 (Quartzite runners first then Granite runners)

  • Supporters are welcome to drop their runners, watch the start and immediately return to the main venue to awasit the runners.

  • Runners who has family members to drop them off at Ouplaas do not need to leave earlier than 8:00 - only 3,5km

  • Runners are welcome to run the 3,5 kms as a warm-up ;)

  • 15km Quartzite Run, Start Time 08:30, cut-off time 11:30

  • 11km Granite Run: Start time 08:45, cut-off time 11:30

  • The 11km Lekka Run: Start time 08:50, cut-off time 11:30

 

Prize Giving:
  • Sat 27 May at 12:30 at Koedoesaal at main venue

  • Sun 28 May at 11:30 at Koedoesaal at main venue

  • The 11km Lekka Run has no prize giving

  • Lucky draw prizes will be handed out at prize giving

Gates at Koedoeslaagte opens at 12:00 on Friday
 
Registration starts at 15:00 on Friday

Medals, Prizes & Trophies

  1. All 2-day event finishers will receive a special event medal. All 11km Fun Run finishers will receive a special event sew-on badge

  2. Only affiliated athletes in possession of a valid ASA year-license will be eligible to receive prize money

  3. A participant may qualify for both an overall prize and age category prize in the same race

  4. Quartzite Run prize money (winners determined on total run-time over the two days)

    1. 1st Overall Men: R3 000. 2nd Overall Men: R2 000. 3rd Overall Men: R1 000.
      4th Overall Men: R500. 5th Overall Men: Anatomic Gift Voucher
